The South Hams is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a diverse range places to visit and things to do. Further-a-field are the historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth. We are within approximately 30 minutes drive time to most of the places to visit.

Walking/ Bird watching
The area is famous for its Southwest Coastal Path www.southwestcoastpath.com that provides some 60 miles of spectacular walking along cliff tops, beaches and heathland from Beer to Rame Head. Equally spectacular is the landscape and walks across Dartmoor. There are further walks along the network of historical Green lanes, footpaths or the Dart Valley, Salcombe/ Kingsbridge, Avon and Erme estuaries. All of these areas provide wonderful habitats for the bird and wild life populations.
Cycling
Cycle routes run throughout the area with hire available in Kingsbridge and South Brent.
Riding / Horse Racing
Stables are available locally in Kingsbridge, Ivybridge and South Brent. Trekking is available across Dartmoor.
Horse racing takes place at Newton Abbott and there are seasonal point-to-point races through out the area.

Carnivals/Regattas
These take place through out the season in the various villages and Towns with fairs and local attractions. The Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth Regattas take place in August some times with the Red Arrows taking part.
